Cost of Shipping Products Yourself (if you order them first than ship) Reply

For those of you who have bought items to ship yourself (which is one way to check for quality and also a way to still sell items after December when they might not ship from Hong Kong in time for Christmas), I thought it might be useful to share what it cost to ship domestically. Of course, shipping will vary depending on how long your shipping and the packaging you use, but this might give everyone a general idea. Here's what I payed for some items I shipped recently. Please share what you've payed as well, if you can remember.

These are all for items mailed to places in the continental US, though I can't remember exact locations.

    Oval Ornament
wrapped in bubble wrap and put in a bubble wrap mailer
    3 oz
    cost $1.56 first class

Maternity shirt and a 1.75" button
    in a bubble wrap mailer
    7 oz
    cost $2.24 first class

I mostly do charms and earrings. Not sure of the exact amount, but it is about the same as sending a letter. A watch or mouse pad is less than $2.00.

More importantly, I go to the post office daily at 4:00 pm. So, since I require immediate pay, everything goes out within 24 hours of payment and received within a few days. I only do this for the US and sometimes Canada.

So...how's that CHANGE working for you now?

It is the safest way for me to do business. This way, I can't blame the other guy for dropping the ball. Yes, it limits my business because it costs too much to ship worldwide. But, at the end of the day, I still have a business. Whereas, those that count on AN to do their part may lose theirs.

    Hi all,

I print my own wall clocks and sell them on ebay for $24.94 with USPS Prority Mail included.

My magnets, mousepads, coasters, etc... are shipped regular USPS first class mail.

I've never had a late shipment or 'where is my order' and I don't expect to.

What I find interesting is I sold a lighter and the customer had it in 15 days from his order. Sure wish black t-shirts were this reliable.
