Question about tagging word phases Reply

Suppose I want whole phrases to show up as tags, for example "Country Western" and if I don't want to separate the two words with commas, do I need quotes around them?
TIA for any answers. Is that standard stuff everywhere? I'm an SEO dummie.

    Hi BH,

As far as I know, phrases, up to three words, are seen by the se's. There is no need to put quotes around them as anything bewteen commas is seen.

Not sure of how much youknow about this sort of thing buy I have found that by including keywords in the first 126 letters og my index page, really helps in the searches. Also I have been told that the tags used for images is also seen along with page content.

    Hope this helps.

Thank you so much, Fred. I was tempted to skip the tags for the images (I'm assuming you're talking about the individual uploaded images to our albums?)but I'm glad you mentioned it.

    Much appreciated help!

RE:RE:Question about tagging word phases Reply

    Gd afternoon,

Here's what I have found about keywords and such:

The search engines (SE) use not only the keywords but the words in your title, description and some even use the first 128 characters that are on your index.html page.

Using up to three (3) separate words for NEkeyword is acceptable: EXAMPLE - country western guitar is aceptable. But using the word country MORE than 3 time in your keywords is considered as spam with some search engines. The word truck and trucksae the same and count as 2 words.

What I do is to use my MAIN keywords as part of my header on my index.html page, in the META section in the description & title.

On each image, I am very specific where the text would go. This is where I type in the EXACT name for the item I'm selling.

That's just the basics om what I've learned over the years and it does work BUT it takes a LOOOONG time to get thru the crowd at the bottom of the search index to near the top.

Hope this helps. If anyone needs some more primers about this, I can insert a section on a post here that goes into a little bit more detail.

    Hope this helps.
