My AN report card comparing 10/2008 to 10/2009 Reply

    Hi all,

    Just decided to take a view of old posts and see what has improved/worsened with AN comparing 10/2008 to 10/2009.

    Other than the usual shrinking, and a few other minor problems, the biggest differences are:

    Quality in the finished product has not changed. Still issues but at least it's not worsened.

    New products - prety good.

    Inventory - AN dropped shirts and a few other products to better cotrol inventory. Sounds good but this latest disaster with the black shirts and how they are processing orders is just terrible. They let us know whenthey don't have any more, they don't let us know when they're back in stock (still n post on this), and instead of processing order by FIFO, they're doing it at random. Not very good.

    They're order numbers have probably quadrupled in this time frame with the addition of Artscow to the family. I know they have made some heavy capitol equipment expenditures for new presses to help with the increae in business. Hopefully any increase in manufacturing personnel will go hand in hand with proper quality control and proper training as it's the actual operator who sees the finished product and puts it in the box.

    To me, it appears tha the same number of people who had issues in 2008, is about the same as here in 2009. However, the issues we are experiencing are more of a mojor problem than missing an order here and there.

    Rubnning out of black t-shirts, not notified until after the fact. Filling orders at random instead of the order they were received (dumb business decision).

    2-4 week period when orders were either late or not shipped (Mid August to Mid Sept). Not good and no word from AN as to why or if/how it was taken care of.

    Communication from AN - worse. Last year at least AN would make a post, this year, nothing. No explanation, no accountability. This being said, received an e-mail from AC about a new product being available. 10 minutes later, another e-mail saying don't sell 'em. Didn't even bother to look to see what it was, BUT at least they let ms know.

    On my own report card I would grade them as compared to last year:

    Communication to storeowners - D
    Customer service from AN to storeowners - C- ( yep. I even got the standard e-mail response, an no, I didn't like it and let them know. Never hard back either).
    Product quality in the box - C (passing but room for improvement)
    Order fulfillment - C- (this would include on time delivery and the Mid Aug mess taken into account).
    XMAS 2008 - vast improvement from 2007. A. ( I shudder to think of Xmas 2009 and it's not even here yet. Wish AN would post here on what they pla to do to make sure XMAS sales are printed and shipped on time.
    Inventory - I have to give them a D for this one. Not only the black shirt issue (no communication as to we ran out but also we got 'em). Black t-shirts, buckles and a few other items ran out, no notice.
    Storeowner satisfaction - B (yeah, I know BUT we are only a few of the thousands who are storeowners and it's only us who post here, not the other 4000 Forum group members.). I also took into account storeowners under my own SVIP program.

    Please bear in mind that we, all of us, are only a handful of the 4000+ members in this forum. I would guess that of the 4000+ members here in thsi forum that it's probably a total of 50-75 members who post here so our responses, although very noticeable, are just a small minority of the total of 4000+.

    So, taken everything (I could think of) into account, I would give AN a B for this time period but in need of lots of room for improvement in customer service, communication with storeowners.

    Just my opinion.

    Hi Fred, thanks for your opinion on the report card, i read the entire post,but I do like to read what you say, since to me it all makes sense and alot of us think the same, your right for sure there are only a handful posting on here, its too bad, becuase it would be better if more would particpate in this forum.

    Hey Fred. Thanks for the time you put into your emails.

    I have found actually though that when I send a message via the support link I am getting a reply usually within 12 hours. so for me , much better and faster then last year.

    Hopefully we will have a better holiday selling season this year.

    Always, enjoy reading your novels Fred.

    I wouldn't actually give customer support a D, that low actually. But I have to say that the thing that most disappoints me is the lack or halt of improvement in product quality over the year. I would really like to see an improved printing method for T-Shirts. Maybe it's the method or just incompetent employees who keeps printing blurry shirts for me.

    And like I recalled the puzzles were going to receive a box like almost 2 years ago. I haven't bother to check, but if I would guess it doesn't have it yet. Just my instinct.

    Fred always has great topics to post on and this one is no different.

    Overall, I would also give AN a B as a report card for the year. Yeah..I know. I'm one who b*tches a lot sometimes, but honestly...if we look at where we were Oct 2007 to 2008 and then today...Wow. I am not going to go thru and count how many products have been added in the last year, but what is it...like 30? And most really nice ones.

    My wish for 2010 and we've said this about 100 times in previous posts.

    AN - please treat your SVIP customers like the partners that you really want us to be. We shell out a ton of money each month and we promote you more than you may know. Give us some say and power and authority to help determine our own destiny. Give us the power to provide refunds to our storeowners. Give us our own private forum. Give us some admin authorities in these forums. We can help, but we need you to help us to help you.
